On July 29, 2010, Arts & Sciences Lodge submitted its application for the 2010 Grand Master’s Award. A Lodge needed to meet seven out of ten goals to qualify for the award. Arts & Sciences Lodge met nine of the ten:

Suspension for Non-payment of Dues – Less than 2% of membership, not to exceed 10.

• A&S had no suspensions for non-payment of dues.

Candidates Raised – Greater number than previous year

• A&S raised its very first Master Mason on July 29, 2010.

Ritual – Two new lectures by members of the Lodge

• Two members gave the Fellow Craft lecture for the first time this year.

Social Activities – Maintain or increase number over previous year

• A&S held a St. John the Evangelist Day feast with family and friends on December 27 and a St. John the Baptist Day Table Lodge on June 24.

Community Service Activities – Maintain or increase number over previous year

• A&S participated in a community fundraiser for a Brother suffering from cancer.

Publicity – Participate in the Grand Lodge program for the first time, or maintain/increase activity from previous year

• N/A

Special Olympics – Increase donations over previous year by 5% (to a minimum of $50.00), or make an initial donation of $50.00 if lodge has not participated previously

Scholarship Foundation – same requirements as above

Charitable Foundation – same requirements as above

Masonic Model Student Assistance Program – same requirements as for #7

The box of fraternal assistance was passed at Lodge for the benefit of Ohio Special Olympics, the Grand Lodge Scholarship Foundation, the Grand Lodge Charitable Foundation, and the Masonic Model Student Assistance program.
